December 16, 1957. You Send Me was the current hit.
I've been listening to a lot of VERY early Beatles today, so this just kind of flowed in that style.
You Send Me
Chorus:
You send me out of my mind
I’m barely holding on to whatever I can find
You send me right round the bend
Fly halfway to the moon and back again
I’m reeling from not knowing why, how, or what or when
You send me into a spin.
You’ve got a reputation as the coolest guy in town
All the girls come running when they see that you’re around
I know that if I asked you out
You’d only turn me down
I’m not the kind of girl that gets the coolest guy in town.
Chorus:
Why should I care about a silly guy like you?
Why should I wonder who you see or what you do?
What difference should it make to me
If your eyes are brown or blue
Tell me why I should pine over a silly guy like you.
Chorus:
Who’s that riding with you when I see you in your car?
Who do you have your arm around while I lust from afar?
I know I don’t have half a chance
It’s like wishing on a star
I wish I was the one that was riding with you in your car.
Chorus
KReichert 9/8/13.
Falling in love is like learning to play the guitar; first you learn to follow the rules, then you learn to play with your heart.
Hi Kathy,
Good start :D unrequited love is stable topic of forlorn angst.
I don't know if you listen to much Taylor Swift. Here is her version on a similar theme.

Thanks for sharing....I look forward to a listen :note1:

I'm trying to think early Beatles while I read it. I can hear the tight harmonies in it. Let's hear it for real.
Took a half- hearted shot a music last night. Still needs editing, and a bridge, I think. Will soldier on!
