Hi
Q: Does anyone have scale exercises (hanon-esque) that uses open tunings and a slide on the index finger?

For a couple of months, I've playing around with this setup. Love the way it sounds :) Moving forward, I'd like to add more solo-esque single note work and get to know my way around the fretboard. I

Also use a metronome. Set it at say... 60bpm at first and every week or so crank it up by 5. Doing the scales slow is the key to speed. Seriously all the speed demons practiced slowly at first. I promise it works. Also look into the 3 notes per string method. It's not for everyone but you might like it. Joe Satriani/Steve Vai uses it for a lot of his shred technique.
