Hiya.
Um, so yeah, as the title says, I'm a real novice at guitar. I've had a guitar for quite a while now (pretty cheap Stagg Strat), but thanks to being unable to find a teacher, and lacking the determination and knowledge of music to teach myself, I've still yet to really play anything.

Hopefully joining up here will help give me a push in the right direction. :D

As for my musical taste, I like pretty much any kind of rock, literally. My favourites change all the time, but at the moment, the Foo Fighters, Jet, The Beatles, The Hellacopters, and The Plain White T's are dominating my iPod.

Hi :0) Also a complete beginner also in England got a jet black (such a beginner that the colour was my "best" point of interest when received) had a go and sounded absolutely awful - alot harder then it looks on tv! eventually (after lots of cursing at sore fingers) got it tuned in and can flip between three chords (badly) however still cant play a thing- my guitar doesnt seem to have a point for adding the other half of the strap either (near neck). thought id join and see if i could learn a thing or two,
Ape.

Hi, and welcome, to both of you.

If you've learnt the right 3 chords, for example G, C and D*, you've already learnt hundreds, if not thousands of songs, you just need to learn a few strumming patterns and you're away.

* Could also be C, F, G or A, D, E or E, A, B or.........................

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
Did you know that the word "gullible" is not in any dictionary?
