Anyone know what the differance between active and passive speakers are ? any help would be appreciated cuz i have no idea

Active speakers have built in power and you can use those with a mixer that is not powered. Passive speakers need a power amp to be able to make them actually work. Passive speakers can be used with powered mixers, they have a mixing board and power amp built in, or an unpowered mixer with a power amp.
