I was persuaded to buy BFD and using it's own loops it sounds great. However, I'm having trouble making any use of it to play midi files with Cubase 4. Any one have any experience to share?

Make sure you're using the right drum map. You may need to import a BFD drum map from the install cd. I haven't used BFD specifically(I use EZdrummer) but, usually this is where the problem might occur. What specific problem are you having?

I can only get BFD to play it's own loops in standalone mode - I can't get Cubase to see BFD like a VST instrument. I guess I've got something fundamentally wrong with my understanding. the only other people I know with BFD are all Logic users.

Can you browse for the plugin in Cubase? You should be able to do this from the Preferrences menu. I'll have to check it out when I get home.
