I've decided to make this my latest project. This is a first very rough take. Nothing prepared, just off the top of my head - and no doctoring of the files, either. This is exactly as I played and sang it - one mic covering guitar and vocals.
I aim to work on this over the next week, and get it up to somewhere near performance standard. I'll spend about 1/2 an hour a day on it, and tab (for my benefit) what I think works.
I've got Nantucket Sleighride down pretty smooth now - next to that, this is the song I've wanted to play all my life. Well - at least since I saw Ry Cooder, way back in the 70's, perform it on the Old Grey Whistle Test. Be warned - after this one I'm going for "St James Infirmary Blues" - might take a tip from Ricochet there, and try it in an open Minor tuning!
:D :D :D

Ry Cooder material makes for a good project. Fool for a Cigarette and Tamp em Up Solid are two I want to cover.

Here is to you as good as you are
And here is to me as bad as I am
As good as you are and as bad as I am
I'm as good as you are as bad as I am
Go for it Vic, just up my street. Look forward to following this project.

Those who can't dance always blame the band.
I can't say that I've heard the original song, but I really like how you play this Vic. Good job! 8)

Way to groove, Vic.
I was right there in the pub while you performed this.....or was I?
