‘Twas two weeks before Christmas and Isabelle was bored
She tried to post a video, on the beginner's board <---(it's called a perfect rhyme)
But something went wrong. What, I don't know.
When I linked to Putfile, the video wouldn't show.
Oh tragedy, Oh disaster, Oh gloom and despair
Oh frustration, Oh fiddlesticks, I'm trying not to swear.
The audience is here. The song anxiously awaited.
What musical wonder has Isabelle created?

Wow Ken
And I'm wondering something... Who was Ken Rogers1 ? Why did you put a number 2 in your nickname?
" First time I heard the music
I thought it was my own
I could feel it in my heartbeat
I could feel it in my bones
... Blame it on the love of Rock'n'Roll! "
Wow Ken
+1000 wows!
I can not watch it. It says "Loading..." (really it says "Cargando..."). :?
KR2... that's BEAUTIFUL
Ok. By popular demand... try this
It works now!
Incredible progress in only a couple of days! Very good Isabelle! :D
I think I'm doing something wrong...
Thanks Nuno, I have to say I hardly put the guitar down in those two days
Well here's a slightly better version http://site.voila.fr/soundslikeporn/silenicht/SilentNight.wmv
And a little bonus http://site.voila.fr/soundslikeporn/silenicht/FairytaleOfNewYork.wmv
Next vid from me in the new year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS FOLKS!
The dog was nestled all snug in his bed
Dreams of chasing squirrels danced in his head
And mama in her recliner and me, computer in lap
Were considering taking our afternoon nap
“Go ahead without me, I won't be long.
I want to see if Isabelle has posted her song.â€
I opened my browser and logged on to this site
And found Izzy had posted; much to my delight
I was so excited. Quickly, I clicked the link
And took a sip of my wine cooler drink
And there was Izzy, instrument in hand
Way over there in Berkshire, England
She played Silent Night. And it was so sweet
She hit all of the notes and stayed in beat
Thank you, Izzy, for the pretty Christmas tune
Warning: I'll be posting my Christmas song soon.

Hi all yule guys and gals
You'll have to forgive KR2 - he's a professional lyricististist don't ya know  He also know how to milk the crowd
Wonderful Issy - the way the fingers dance around the fretboard is beautiful.
Do you remember me trying to play that Silent Night last Christmas after only having my guitar for three months - well, I still can't play it any better now so I may not post a Christmas song this year  I think I can play Stairway to Heaven better - and that's saying something.
In fact I think I'll go and have a look, just to depress me even more... :|
Rock on!

Isabelle, it seems the site has a bandwidth quota and you received many downloads today. I can not download the videos now, I'll try it again tomorrow.
(Ken, you are great! :D)
Dylan is right. You'll have to forgive me.
It all started with my involvement on SSG.
I've started thinking and posting in rhymes
I find myself often talking that way at times
It's real annoying, and stupid I might add
And it's beginning to drive me stark raving mad
So forgive me and ignore me if you would, please
I've an appointment with my shrink about this disease.

Yes Nuno - I got an email from my host this afternoon to say my site was temporarily suspended. I've had to ask for an increase in the download limit
Actually Dylan I thought your version was VERY good last year for only playing three months. A year on we pick things up a lot quicker (thank God) and our trained (!) fingers make the job a lot easier too.
KR. There *is* life outside the SSG, you know. Be a devil, give it a try, you might actually enjoy it ;]

I had a look at the vid for the first time in nearly a year - quite amusing actually. I can definitely see an improvement now but NOT as much as I would have hoped - it is a tricky little number though..
By the way, I just thought I'd mention my excitement about downloading a video with the word 'porn' in the file string - thanks Issy for that moment of fantasy...

Nice videos Isabelle!
The Fairtale of New York is a veru nice tune. I didn't know it.
Is it possible that there is something wrong in the Silent Night? The part "Round yon virgin mother and Child" doesn't sound so well to me. It is possible that your arrangement solves that part in that way. Or perhaps I am comparing it with the famous Spanish carol Noche de Paz
I like it very much! :D

Hey - don't pinch our Ken! Although his rhymes are sometimes beyond our ken.....
Actually, he's doing pretty well - one of the first people to pass comments on everyone else's songs (which is a good way to learn about the songwriting process, apart from anything else) and offer useful suggestions, he's written a few decent songs hisself - at least one of which is a real good 'un.
Dylan's thrown himself into the songwriting with gusto as well - he's the only SSG member as yet who's managed to put a song out every week this year. Some good songs, too - and he's not afraid to scrap a line, or rethink it, if it doesn't quite come off.
Like it says on the forum header - songwriting's like playing guitar, you have to practise that too - so if anyone else feels like there's a song in them, don't be afraid to have a go. You've got to start somewhere, and I promise we'll be gentle with you!
:D :D :D
