Ok so I got my prewired pickguard in the mail and it has 3 wires i need to solder but i dont know where they go...

Wire #1 has a ring-type thing atthe end of it

Wire #2 is just a plain wire

Wire #3 forks out into 2 wires...i think this goes to the output jack?

Where do I solder these wires? Also, how does this relate to shielding? I'm a little but clueless here

those are somewhat helpful but I'm electronically challenged...

Can someone tell me where those wires are supposed to go? I know I can solder the ground wire to the copper shielding foil I have, and i'm pretty sure that forked wire is for the output, but what about the one with the ring?

Try this page Shielding go down to about #13 is that what your ring looks like?

Heres another pageMore guitar Shielding and flip through to the pic that says "Ring Terminal"

Hopefully you find them useful.

according to the one website you put it between the pot and the nut on the underside of the pickgaurd no need to solder it.

You shouldn't have cavities, go to the dentist! :D

I started with nothing - and I've still got most of it left.
