"... Next year, Ovation will offer a collector's guitar with a twist. It has a totally redesigned bowl. Yes you read that right. Now there will NEVER be a chance of someone saying that the guitar slips off their lap. Although the bowl looks flat on the back it is tuned with many parabolas to tune the body much like an equalizer. The guitar does not have to "hug" the stomach of the user and it can actually be free and vibrate...."

One less thing for those who dislike Ovations to complain about. 8)

I'll probably still dislike 'em, but I don't complain about 'em anyway.

I don't like the fact that the back feels plastic. I really loved the look of the thing when I saw it, so I was hyped up (balandeer 1850 or something?I cant remember, beautiful looking) and then when I went to play it, and I felt the back I was very mad.

Sounds more an aggrivation then a celebrated success. But we'll see.

Have you seen burrell guitars?

The site is down, but you can see them here

along with an assortment of unconventional shaped guitars.

Funny looking gutiars, although I dont see how it's related.

What can I say about that back? I dont feel it very often unless I'm playing with my shirt off.

You'll to forgive me, an Ovation was the first guitar I fell in love with, and I have yet to play one that wasn't the same.

Would that be the fabled hardtail model? I might actually have to get one of those bad boys... especially if it looks decent.

I'm quite anti-trem, after my rather extensive experiences with a floyd.

Yep, thats it, and I don't think they even build JEM guitars that look bad. :? (Though the White ones are the best, IMO :D :D )
