Had a great weekend. A friend of mine invited the usual suspects over to his house for a marathon jam session on Saturday. My friend John and I on guitars, Salvator on drums. John has a pretty good set up in his basement, in which you could probably have a football game. He's got a PA system, drum kit, a bass amp, a 100 watt Marshal stack (he' plays through that), a 40 watt Fender amp.

I brought my 40w Marshall/effects. We had a killer time. Turns out John's son, James, plays the drums, so he sat in on a few tunes, while Sal played on the '74? SG he brought. Luckily I remembered to bring the camera this time and we had a friend of James take some pics. (Will post a few when I get home) To help move things along nicely, John had a newly installed tap put in his granite kitchen counter top so we had ice cold Heineken on tap all night! :D

Bonus night for me as I was able to play guitar, bass and drums this night!! :D

From what I can remember, here's the set list. (No, not from drinking...we just played so many songs!!!)

1-Sweet Home Chicago (ala- Clapton)
2- Grind it Out Blues – Name of the blues jam we do. It could last for days if we let it.
3- 6 -Grinder, Beyond the Realms of Death, Metal Gods, Living After Midnight Judas Priest
7-8 -Tush, LaGrange -ZZ Top
9-13- What is and What Should Never Be, Heartbreaker, Ramble On, D'yer Mak'er, Kashmir- Led Zep
14- Wish You Were Here - PF
15- Let It Bleed -Stones-
16- Melissa – Allman Bros
17- Rocket Man- Elton John
18-Norma Jean -Elton John
19- Freebird - LS
20- Roadhouse Doors
21- Ziggy Stardust -Bowie
22-Take It or Leave It – Original (Blueline)
23- One Good Reason- Original (Blueline)
24- Three Chord Jam – Let's just experiment with 3 chords
25 - Double Take - Original (Blueline)

Will post pics so you can see all of the ugly mugs. And us too.

Teamwork- A few harmless flakes working together can unleash an avalanche of destruction.

What - no "Mid-life Crisis Male Menopause Blues?" Would've thought that song fitted nicely....and it's mostly Blueline.

:D :D :D

Hey Man, sounds like a great time. 8) I like the variety you guys did too. Mixing it up always appeals to me.

You know, I played that for so many people when you and I were writing that Vic! One friend asked for permission to play it at his gigs!!!

You bet Roy! We mixed it up pretty good. My friend John plays very good. There were a few times where I just put my amp on stand by and watched him play.

Dog- Had to represent my brotha!

Sounds like it was a terrific night. Those are exactly the sort of occasions that make all those hours we spend hacking away on our own worthwhile.

Cheers,

Chris

Hey Blue good deal, I have a similar setup at my house. PA, drums, Bass Amp, quitar amps etc. wwe play every Friday for 2-3 hours although it's more like practice then an open jam but we have fun.

6 hours is a pretty long time to jam haven't done that in awhile.

Pretty good list of songs to. I like Ziggy Stardust wish I could get someone to play it with.

"It's all about stickin it to the man!"
It's a long way to the top if you want to rock n roll!
