Has anyone used the lyricist songwriting software, http://www.musesmuse.com/vss-review.html , or the Masterwriter Program. http://www.masterwriter.com/reviews.htm , trying to get a feel for the comparison as the Masterwriter is a bit more expensive than lyricst

Get yourself an ASCAP membership and you'll get a big discount on Masterwriter

I'm sure that these programs do what they claim to do, but I don't think they're all that useful--at least to me. IF you regularly write on a computer, there may be some sense to it, but otherwise...I'm not convinced that you get more from the software than from a pad and a pencil and a rhyming dictionary and a thesaurus and perhaps some red wine. :P

Now I'll confess something: I have a marked propensity to convince myself that there's something out there, some magic bullet that's going to make my writing soar. That why I own so many books on writing: They all look so promising, so inspiring! But then, I find that nothing really lessens the confrontation with the blank page. :x It's still there, always, even if it takes the form of a blinking cursor in a sexy software program.

Now this is my baggage, I know. Perhaps you do write on a computer and perhaps the software is exactly what you need. If so, great. I thought I'd float a cautionary tale, in case you suffer from the same disorder that affects me.
