I'm not sure what mood you're going for. The first verse sounds positive. Then, it seems like you're saying that the little good things can't possibly make up for the big bad things. I'm sure that your intent wasn't sarcasm, but it comes across that way to me. Suggestion: instead of "what's a little," try "just a "little."

Well . . .. . I certainly didn't see that coming. I think the chorus is pretty clear that it IS the little things that count . . . . that little things can offset the bad . . . . . . . I guess it's point of view. And your suggestion does clear that up . . . I, obviously, didn't think it was pessimistic. Thanks for your input.

I apologize. That was my first reading. Your intent does come through clearly in the chorus and maybe asking the questions in each verse gives the song a little more zing than my suggestion.

Gosh, no need to apologize. On first read you simply responded to what you felt at the time. I can easily see your point of view. By my asking the question "what" . . . . . I'm opening up the possibility of there being an different answer than the one I had projected.
