Hi, i'm new on here, hello everyone, just wondering whether anyone can help me please. I'm trying to figure out what effects are used on the lead guitar in the song 'Be Alright' by Zapp? Link to song below. It's the sound that's a bit like a cat's meeow. Thanks.

Sounds like the guitarist is using the volume knob on the guitar while bending the strings. Either the volume knob or a volume pedal;either will give sweeping increase in volume while hiding the initial attack of pick-against-string.

Possibly this Troutman was well known for his use of the talk box, a device that is connected to an instrument to create different vocal effects. Roger used a custom-made talkbox–the Electro Harmonix "Golden Throat," through a Moog Minimoog and later in his career a Yamaha DX100 FM synthesizer."
