Cable problem. I need to find the one.

I'm finding my cable choices don't work for all gear.
I have a 3' Rean Silver I intended to use from guitar to pocket POD. It didn't turn on the POD. So I had to buy a new cable. Thankfully, the Rean carries the signal from fx processor to amp, so not a total loss.

I got an acoustic-electric guitar today, but the cable I use for electric guitar to amp (RapcoHorizon) doesn't carry the signal from AE to amp.

I'm looking for a reliable cable, that has a screwed on collar/cover/housing, that will work for all or most hookups. It doesn't need to act as pedal patch cable because I have modeling amps and fx processors.
