This is exactly the way I learned it (with the capo on the third fret). Once you get it down, you can try hammering on some of the melody line notes for a little interest. It's easier than you might think.
Great job not only on the tab, but on the thorough step-by-step instructions, Mattguitar! D

Blame it on the lies that killed us, blame it on the truth that ran us down.
Maybe I'm mis-hearing, but I hammer on from an open e for the final d chord of that intro figure. I do an upstroke there to get that hammer on to sound a little more forceful, but maybe I'm confusing the guitar with the sitar part or something. D

I was playing around with this last night - still needs work but it's getting better! I can play the riff but my strumming for the opening section is not where I want it to be.
Matt - well done!
A couple of side notes: my Hal Leonard "Best of the Beatles for Acoustic Guitar" puts the capo on the 2nd fret. I also believe that the "Beatles Complete" tab agrees with this capo placement.
The A7 you use in the Bridge is an A chord in my Hal Leonard book. Not a big difference, but I prefer the A7 you use.
Cheers

This was really helpful. Fantastic job. Thanks.
Fantastic job, Matt! Thanks for all of your hard work. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my list!!

I tabbed a while back....my tab was in E, works for me
Like Vic, I originally learned this in E but there was a YouTube lesson awhile back and had it in D like the example here. My buddy plays in E and I slap a capo on the second and play in D.
