A combination of several tabbed versions on the internet. Although alternatives exist for playing the notes up and down the neck, this version produces the tone, and ease of switching to other chords and notes, that I prefer. :D Fingerings of notes have been included, and tab has been sized to fit (barely) onto two open-face printed pages, if desired.

Intro: By fingering first two notes with ring & pinky (p) as indicated, one can easily slide up to form an F#m.

Bar Chords:

Not as intimidating as it may first appear. The F#m is, perhaps, the easisest of all bar chords. Move it up two frets and you have your G#m.

Much of the song is "toggling" back and forth from an F#m to a C#m. Many songs include a Bm, so this is a good bar chord to learn, and a C#m is simply a barred Bm moved up two frets.

If the B chord makes you break out in a sweat, a B7 will do nicely instead. Similarly, an F chord can replace the F6 (but doesn't sound as good).

An open A chord can be used in place of a barred A chord, and in a pinch, the Bb can be fingered as (xx0331) until the barred version is mastered.

Chords:

F#m: 244222
E6: 022120
C#m: 446654
A: 577655
B: 224442
B7: 021202
G#m: 466444
F6: 13x231
Bb: 113331

Notes in Verses:

F#m (11-10-9): r-m-i
C#m (9-9-9): barr i
A (9-10-9): open D chord shape
B7 (11-10-11): open D7 shape

There, now you can play this beautiful song Paul wrote for Jane Asher.

Thanks. The mundane parts of "life", got in the way . . . but I'm glad to be back on my favorite guitar site on the internet. Shug

After playing this several times, I have edited the original tab to change a note (and fingerings) in the Intro and Ending and changed the E chord in the body to an E6 (022120).
