Hi everyone
I'm not just new to the forum I'm new to the guitar. Had one about six weeks.
Everywhere I look tells me learning the Pentatonic scales is a must but it's so @£#+?£ confusing.
Eg, I'm looking at a diagram of the C Major Pentatonic scale. "Know your root notes" they say. On the low E string the G and A are held down so how the hell would I know the root is a C?

It's not a lot of extra work; do learn the notes on all the strings - in the situation you're describing, C is on the 5th string and the 3rd
