Re: More Knock Off Strat Woes: UPDATED with sample

What a blast from the past thread. I read this a couple days ago when satya31 replied to it and I was sent an email notification. Good times. A follow up over my coffee this morning. Looking back and vaguely remembering anything about this scenario, I recalled two important issues. First, the neck h...

Re: Guitar tuning peg shaking

I picked up a cheap bass with semi-active electronics to broaden my horizons. all 4 were buzzing. More like rattling. I bought 4 cheapo replacement tuners from Guitar Fetish. Problem solved - for now.

Re: Stick with tube amp or jump ship and get a modeling amp?

Hi! I'm sort of an old fashioned, vintage gear kinda guy. Tube Amps are what do it for me. One of my favourite set ups is either my 52 Tele RI or my 54 Strat RI through my 54/55 Gibson GA-20 amp. That was always one of my Holy Grail, had to have amps. It sure didn't let me down! (If you type, Rando...

Re: Second Hand IBANEZ GAX30 Still a Good option?

my first was a GAX-70, purchased in 2004. I was a a noob tenderfoot, twice your current age. It got me started and has served me well. Now it is serving as a starter guitar for someone 3X your current age when he started. The main characteristic that drew me to this mine was the nut width. I do not ...

Howdy Fellow GN'ers - Old and New!!!

Hi Everyone (or anyone?). It's been quite a long time since many of us have posted here. What's it been since doing this on a regular basis, 6-7 years? I do often miss the group of folks we had here. Such fun was had and lots of learning. Anyhow, I got thinking about the music journey I've been on s...

Hi Bish and Noteboat!

Noteboat, it's nice to see your business has achieved a lot of success. I'm sure it's well deserved.

Re: Led Zeppelin / Spirit Trial

Maybe they saw the success and bucks that the Gaye family were awarded and decided it to be worth it.

There's another song out last year - I've forgotten which one - that's receiving the attention of a $20m lawsuit. Ouch!!!

Re: Dry Acoustic Guitars

Hi Nuno! All's well as it can be. Thanks! I hope you're doing well yourself. What sort of weekly maintenance do you do to your acoustic? I'm rolling along with a staggered case hydration schedule with the new Breedlove, Dobro and ESP-LTD acoustics. The Taylor stays in the case except for when playin...

Dry Acoustic Guitars

My long, dry dead guitar and subsequent reaming I received story. I might have done it to myself. I have a fairly decent every day player. A Breedlove Stage J350EF with a Jumbo body. It in was purchased as a quit-smoking prize 4 or 5 years ago, so it has some sort of sentimental value. Part of the d...

Re: Using a full hollowbody

I've put quite a few Guitar Fetish pickups in guitars over the years. I agree that the P90's really stand out. I've been so tempted to replace the ones on my Epi P93, but hate to give up that niche that the stock ones give me. If it was my only guitar, I would very quickly. also thinking of doing th...

Re: Share Your Junkers

I've always wondered - is it possible to convert your guitar so it will use regular strings? The headstock is pretty much just a big hole. The place where the nut would normally be is where the string seats are on this system. I suppose it would be possible to replace the tremolo unit with a standa...

My belated condolences and sympathies. Sad times, indeed. I hope you're doing well, all things considered, and apologize for not seeing this until now.

Best wishes to you, your family and friends.

Anyone got any cheapo guitars that are not worth a whole lot to anyone but you? Perhaps it's some belt-buckle rash of a few chips from falling over. Maybe some other cosmetic damage, or maybe a cheapo guitar with great mods, but you still only get offered 1/3rd of what you paid for it 2 years prior....
