George Thorogood and the Destroyers Contest
In celebration of the 25th Anniversary Release of George Thorogood’s legendary “Bad to the Bone” album we are giving away a custom made (by George himself) signed guitar slide along with a copy of “Bad to the Bone: The 25th Anniversary Edition”. These are the exact same slides that George uses on stage. In addition two runners-up will receive copies of the album.
To enter this contest you must answer the following skill testing question:
What year was “Bad to the Bone” originally released?
The contest is open until September 25, 2007 at midnight. Winners will be selected by random. Please only one entry per person. We will notify the lucky winners by email and announce the results in our newsletter.
In case you’re not excited yet, here’s what the slides we’re giving away look like. Pretty cool, huh?
Update: This contest is now closed. Thanks to all those who entered. The winners will be announced soon.

Originally released for Christmas 1980 in Britain as a single, the U.S. record company … or for his one great video of “Bad to the Bone” with Bo Diddley. here in the USA was 1982?

David, might be a good time to add one of George’s songs to your suite of lessons. By the way, thanks again for those – it has really helped me enjoy my playing time.
I too feel the same way about the destroyers. Great bar/drinking band. We can’t help singing along to “Move it on over”, “Madison blues” and the famous “if you don’t start drinking, i’m gonna leave”.
IMHO its possible to drink / keep up with “I drink alone”, but “One Burbon, One Scotch, One Beer” is definitely out of reach !

I love GT’s music – one of the main reasons I keep a guitar tuned to open G! And how many films has “Bad To The Bone” been featured in a film soundtrack? I can think of “Christine” and “Terminator 2” off the top of my head, but I’m sure there are others!

It’s definitely great drinking music. Every time I hear a Thorogood song I want to turn it up real loud and be obnoxious for a while. It’s the kind of music that gives you an attitude boost!

Oh yea, I almost forgot. 1982. We did three or four of his tunes. I was in a band called the Smokindogs. Go figure! :-)

George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers are simply the best darn bar band in the world!! Just thinking about them makes me want to kick back a few beers and hit the dance floor with my best girl! :-) Brings back a few memories.
